Digital Marketing to Experience a Boom in 2014



Although the concept of digital marketing was here for quite some time, the year 2013 has witnessed a tremendous growth in this sector. Many well reputed and already established business houses adopted this strategy during this period and many newcomers established their brands using digital marketing. This year also witnessed two major changes in the algorithms which have influenced the habits adopted by digital marketing professionals.  
As the growth of the sector continued throughout the year, many usual practices have disappeared. Purchasing links became useless as the search engines turned wise enough to recognize the paid links and dumping of keywords became a reason for degrading the web pages. The positive effects of the changes in the algorithms of Google brought content to the topmost position in digital marketing. This clearly indicates the significance of content marketing in 2014.

Merely writing lengthy sentences abundant with keywords will not work anymore with search engines. Sometimes, such a practice may end up in receiving a permanent ban from the search engines too. Search engines started giving importance to the real contents inside an article and are quite wise enough to recognize whether they are relevant to the pages it is linking. At this juncture, only unique and relevant contents can help in increasing the page ranking and thus ensuring a top position in the search results.

Video marketing

This is another form of content marketing which has started in 2013 and will continue to be in the top priority list throughout the year 2014. Unlike the commercial clippings in the television channels, these videos are very cheaper but will attract more customers to your website. The perfect blending of graphics with words makes a video attractive and informative. Many digital marketing specialists are offering this service also nowadays.

Slide Marketing

This is another way to establish brand names which has emerged in 2013. With many slide submission sites,
this stream is expected to continue its upper hand in digital marketing. When the use of images along with texts makes it more convincing, the fact that a visitor can take his or her own time to read as the next slide will come only on the click, gives more flexibility to the readers more than videos.

Social Media Marketing

Although, the social media was very popular and was influencing the thoughts of youngsters even before 2013, this year witnessed a flow of people from all ages to these media. The area which has been considered the playing ground of youth has turned to a vast conventional hall where people belong to any group can enter and discuss on any subjects. This change in the attitude of the public made social media stronger and the business organizations started taking advantage of this change. This trend is also supposed to continue in the coming years.
